To a place where people from all walks of life can come together to explore the ocean. From absolute beginners to seasoned water people, we have something for everyone, tied together by the common thread of curiosity and love for the sea. Whether you live near the ocean, on it or dream about it, we as humans are intrinsically connected to our blue planet in more ways than we know. The way we live has a direct impact on our oceans, and we believe the best way to inspire change is by creating a deep love and respect for these places.

The ocean gives and changes us in indescribable ways, you never come out the same as when you went in. It started as a dream that if we could bring people to love freediving, they would leave with an appreciation strong enough to change the way they live, to live for the sea.

This hasn’t changed, our oceans are more threatened as ever, but we have also seen the way the ocean challenges and changes people. One of the greatest joys of teaching is supporting people while they wrestle the internal demons that come from the deep. We witness the fears, insecurities, self limiting beliefs and work with people side by side, one equalisation at a time.

We know freediving can be a little intimidating, so think of it as 'fancy snorkelling' if you prefer. We will provide you with a safe & relaxed environment to learn, grow and dive head first with us. Time in the industry has shown us that freediving courses are such a small aspect of being a freediver, the Liv For The Sea philosophy is about creating divers who are confident, competent, capable and care. We are ocean people, on land and at sea.

So here we are, inviting you to the sea, to take a dive, go on an adventure and come back changed.
 

Taking the leap to travel overseas on your own, let alone following someone down a long rope into the blue, takes a whole heap of courage. We get it, and we don't take that trust lightly. Our hosts come from a variety of backgrounds and love connecting with people on all topics, not just the ocean. Expect livley dinner table conversation and hosts that are genuinely curious about you.

We take huge pride in knowing that our staff are all accomplished water people, with experience that spans well beyond their freedive instructor label. These aren't people who learned to freedive last year and got certified. These are people who have spent years, in many cases, their entire lives, in, on and under the ocean. They are surfers, spearfishers, marine biologists, photographers, yoga teachers and adventurers who happen to also hold world-class freediving qualifications.

When you're forty kilometres offshore in Papua New Guinea or drifting through a Raja Ampat current, you want to know the person next to you has seen it all before. Ours have.
