We are Georgie & Liv. Two Australian women pursuing an ever evolving dream of guiding people to the sea. We originally hail from country NSW and coastal Victoria and met on a tiny island in the middle of nowhere. On Lord Howe Island our friendship developed over a shared love of adventure, the ocean and a habit of saying 'yes' to all experiences.
We don’t want to just be freedivers. We don’t want you to just be a freediver. We aspire to be accomplished ocean people and conscious travellers, who see more of a place than the resort. We believe travel is about experiencing places for all they have to offer. The people, the food, the culture the meaning and rituals and more importantly leave them better than how we found them.
From the outside this may appear to be an ocean/ freediving inspiration page. But underneath all the pretty photos and videos we are inviting you to live these enriching experiences with us. We want you to dive way beyond the surface. Way beyond a photo with a dolphin. Way beyond just you and the dive line. We want you to understand the importance of everything that surrounds you in the sea. The connection to the local people, the marine life, but most importantly yourself.
We challenge you to dive deeper into this big beautiful world with us. You’ll go home utterly exhausted, but hopefully a little fuller than when you arrived.
OUR
ENVIRONMENTAL VALUES
In a world where everything claims to be green, eco, or sustainable how do you actually know? Truthfully there isn't alot that has zero impact, but we believe one of the greatest levers for change is where you choose to spend your money, who you choose to support, and the ripple effects of doing so. It takes research to figure out who genuinely walks the talk, so we're going to make that easier for you. In all honesty, we are far from perfect. But as a small, female-owned, female-led company we are doing what we can, with the information we have, and we are always learning.

LIV ROSE

Inspired by a need for change, a cry for help from our marine environment
Liv is a 33-year-old ocean enthusiast, advocate and all round frother! With the majority of her working career spent on the sea in some form, Liv is equipped with skills and experience far beyond her years. As an Environmental Science graduate and years spent exploring the globe and living witness to the devastation that societal norms and carelessness has caused our environment, Liv endeavours to inspire others to live lightly through her passion for the sea. Teaching freediving grew as a natural progression to share this love for the underwater world and there blossomed her dream of running Freedive Expeditions around the world. You can find Liv surfing the temperate waters or bush walking in Wadawurrung Country, the Surf Coast of Victoria.

Driven to help people overcome their fears and learn to love the sea
Georgie is a 33 year old lover of all things ocean and adventure. She comes to the party with a broad range of experience, from scuba dive master to emergency nurse to hospitality professional. This range of careers has seen her work and travel the world in search of outdoor adventures. You won’t find her in one place long!
After years spent in emergency departments Georgie has come back to her true love, being underwater. As a kid from the country her relationship with the ocean was not love at first sight, but a process of overcoming fears and pushing her comfort zone. As a result she is passionate about helping others find their way into the water and is unfazed by any challenge. You can find Georgie on long hikes or diving for abalone around Nipaluna Country, Hobart, Tasmania.

Meet our dear friend and instructor Julia Haysom. Originally from Melbourne, she found her way to Lord Howe Island and into the lives of Liv and George in 2021.
Julia brings her passion for mental health and deep understanding of psychology to the way she moves through life. Julia’s blend of humour, care free attitude and love of the sea make her a delight of human to be around. OUR TRAVEL ETHICS
We aren't silly enough to say we're perfect. We aren't silly enough to pretend that travelling the world doesn't add to our individual footprint. But we are smart enough to know how to travel in a way that gives more than it takes.
Travelling this incredible globe is a privilege, full stop. And we strongly believe that if you are lucky enough to live a life that most never will, then you have a responsibility to live it fully. Because if you're anything like us, you already know that connection is everything. That the ingredients to universal love and understanding are found in the people, cultures and places that exist far beyond our own front door.
We cannot sit at home and will on world peace. We cannot will on climate awareness from our couches. We have to be the ones out there, in the water, in the community, in the conversation, carrying a message worth sharing.
So yes, we travel. We do it consciously, we do it carefully, and we do it because we genuinely believe the world is better for it.
The question is, do you you want to travel with us?
Travel is our activism
Privledge comes with responsibility
We are guests, everywhere we go
